Five decades at The Invisible Theatre

For nearly fifty years, Susan Claassen ("Suz") was the heart of The Invisible Theatre. As Managing Artistic Director she directed more than 600 productions and acted in over 70, created opportunities for some 1,500 theatre artists, and built the company into one of Arizona's most beloved producing theatres.

A member of Actors' Equity Association for more than fifty years, she has been honored as one of Arizona's "48 Most Intriguing Women," and tours internationally as the creator and star of A Conversation With Edith Head.

In December 2024 she stepped down as Managing Artistic Director, becoming Managing Artistic Director Emeritus.
