Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve

One of the great birding walks in the Southwest — flat, shaded, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
A Nature Conservancy preserve along a permanent stretch of Sonoita Creek, under one of the last intact Fremont cottonwood–willow gallery forests in Arizona. The birding is the draw and the walking is easy and shaded.
$8 general admission; $5 for Conservancy members and Cochise County residents; free for under-18s.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, all year. The gates open at 6:30am through the summer and 7:30am from October, closing at 4pm either way — an hour that matters if you are driving over for the dawn chorus. Both weeks are set out above.
